For executive coaching to work, we believe that there are a number of fundamental principles that underpin any effective coaching relationship. Even though every indivdual coach will have different strengths and abilities, their actual beliefs and assumptions will be in line with the following guidelines:
- A commitment to support the individual (coachee)
- The coach/coachee relationship is based on truth, openess
and trust
- The coachee is responsible for all the outcomes they are
generating
- The coachee can achieve more than they are currently achieving
- The coaching is focused on what the coachee thinks and experiences
- Coachees can generate perfect solutions
- The coach/coachee relationship is based on equality
